Children/Young Adults

Children's Room

Children are very important in our library!  We have a beautiful room dedicated just for them, with books, games, puppets, toys and more.

Every week, there is a new craft project for them to create.

Miss Danielle will help you find just the right book and she loves to read you stories!  We have Toddler Time and Family Story Time weekly.  Check our calendar for details and special events.

Toddler Time

Toddler Time for children, 18 months - 3 years old, and their caregiver is held weekly on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m.

Family Storytime

Family Storytime is for kids of all ages and is held weekly. Join us for stories, songs, and crafts.  Thursdays at 10:30 am

Juniors

A Junior section is located in the main library for our chapter book readers.

Young Adults

Our Young Adults have their own section of the Library.  Grab a book and get comfortable in one of our comfy chairs.  We also have a new gaming computer.

STEAM Challenges

We challenge our kids with STEAM challenges as a special event.

Makerspace

This is a cart full of things you can use to build, create and design.

Special Events

Many special events are scheduled throughout the year such as: Clifford the Big Red Dog, Dr. Seuss Birthday Party, Christmas Party and more.

Dolly Parton Imagination Library

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is a FREE GIFT to our children.  All you  have to do is read to your child.  This program is available to preschool children (0-5) that live in Gila County. 1000 Books Before Kindergarten

This is a fun way to help prepare your child for Kindergarten. Reading to a child expands their vocabulary exponentially and it is a great bonding experience that will create life-long memories.

Children that are read to often are frequently exposed to other literacy experiences such as singing, rhyming, and even talking. They have an edge when it comes to being ready to learn to read when they enter school. Research shows that engaging in early literacy activities at home helps prevent reading difficulties later in school and promotes positive attitudes toward reading. Most importantly, reading together is fun! Sign-up in the library.
