Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is a FREE GIFT to our children. All you have to do is read to your child. This program is available to preschool children (0-5) that live in Gila County. Every month a new, carefully selected book will be mailed to your child. Sign-up in the library or online.
This is a fun way to help prepare your child for Kindergarten. Reading to a child expands their vocabulary exponentially and it is a great bonding experience that will create life-long memories.
Children that are read to often are frequently exposed to other literacy experiences such as singing, rhyming, and even talking. They have an edge when it comes to being ready to learn to read when they enter school. Research shows that engaging in early literacy activities at home helps prevent reading difficulties later in school and promotes positive attitudes toward reading. Most importantly, reading together is fun! Sign-up in the library.
